BONE-BOOSTING RECIPES
Why not try boosting your child’s intake of calcium and vitamin D by including Petits Filous in other foods? As well as being a source of vitamin D, a serving of the following recipe also provides a quarter of the daily calcium and iron recommendations for children up to age 10.
Wholewheat Baby Pancakes with Fromage Frais
Healthy tea-time treat of baby wholewheat honey pancakes served with delicious fromage frais spooned over the top. Makes 12 – three mini pancakes per serving.
Ingredients
200g brown flour
100ml milk
1 small banana (mashed)
1 tbsp melted margarine
2 eggs, beaten
2 tbsp apple juice
1 tbsp runny honey
Sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to flavour
Butter for frying
4 x 60g pots of Petits Filous Fromage Frais
Use one 60g pot of fromage frais per three pancakes (serving) – hence total amount needed is four pots.
Method
1. Mix all the ingredients together to give a thick pancake dropping consistency.
2. Cook pancakes in 2 batches.
3. Melt half the margarine mixture in a large non-stick pan. Place dessert spoon of mixture into the pan and smooth each into a round shape. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until browned underneath. Flip over and cook the other side.
4. Transfer to kitchen paper to blot. Repeat with remaining margarine and mix.
5. Arrange on small serving plate and finish with the fromage frais.
